Ongoing Fleet Repair Agreements - Lingfield

If you run vehicles, damage is not an event. It is a running cost that turns up every few weeks, and most operators handle it the same way every time: ring round, get a couple of quotes, argue about the timescale, arrange the transport, chase for an update.

An ongoing agreement takes that repeated work out of the process. You have a repairer, known rates and a known route, and the only question when something happens is when we can collect it.

What an agreement covers

Agreed rates

Labour rates and standard repair pricing agreed at the outset, so you know the cost of a bumper or a door before it happens and you are not re-quoting the same job every time.

Agreed turnaround

A standard target for common work, and an honest conversation at the point of booking about anything that will not meet it.

A standing process

How damage gets reported, who authorises the work, what threshold we can proceed under without asking, and who gets told what. Set once, then it simply runs.

Collection & delivery

Built in rather than negotiated per job.

One point of contact

The same person, who knows your vehicles and your arrangement.

What it is not

It is not a contract that ties you in, and it is not a minimum volume commitment. If it stops working for you, you stop using it.

It is also not a price list that ignores what is in front of us. Accident damage varies, and an agreement covers standard work at agreed rates while genuinely unusual jobs get quoted properly. What you will not get is a low headline rate and a series of additions at the end.

Authorisation thresholds

This is the part that saves most operators the most time.

We will agree a value below which we simply get on with the repair, and above which we come to you first. Most of the delay in fleet repair is not the work; it is waiting for somebody to approve something small. Setting a sensible threshold removes that entirely for the majority of jobs.

Reporting & cost control

We will keep you updated on live jobs and summarise activity across your fleet in whatever form is useful.

Over time, that is worth more than the repair rate. If you can see which vehicles, sites or routes generate the most damage, you can do something about it. Plenty of operators find that a small number of vehicles or drivers account for most of the bodywork spend, and nobody had ever put the numbers side by side.

Non-fault work within the agreement

Where damage is caused by a third party, the choice of repairer is yours rather than their insurer’s. Handled within an ongoing agreement, that means the vehicle comes to us as a matter of course, the process is dealt with on your behalf, and your vehicle is not sitting in an unfamiliar network body shop while somebody works out what happens next.

Non-Fault Accident Repairs for Fleet

Getting started

There is no lengthy onboarding. We will want to understand what you run, where it is based, how damage currently gets reported and what your turnaround needs actually are. Then we agree rates, a threshold and a process, and put it in writing so everybody knows where they stand.

If it is useful, start with a single repair and see how we handle it before agreeing anything wider. Most operators would rather judge a body shop on a job than on a proposal, and we would rather be judged that way too.

Talk to us

Tell us roughly what you run and how repairs are handled at the moment. If we can’t improve on it, we will say so.
